Commenting Strategies

Commenting StrategiesOne of the spokes on your Internet marketing wheel is “commenting strategies.” Commenting, or “posting,” to blogs on a regular basis, even if it is a very short post of appreciation, can bring many benefits:

  1. It increases the number of “internal links” to your blog, thereby improving your SEO.
  2. It positions you as an expert in your niche market.
  3. It may put you directly on the radar screen of the expert whose blog it is that you’re posting on.
  4. Through the visibility to your niche market, it may help you create more leads of people with whom you might potentially do a joint venture (JV).
  5. It generates positive energy through the power of appreciation.

Personally, when I “comment” on someone’s post, I do at least 3 things:

  1. I appreciate the blogger who made post.
  2. I add “how” I felt inspired as a result of reading the post.  If it’s appropriate, I add something of value, to enhance the conversation.
  3. If possible, I include an email and URL of my own blog that is in that niche, like BlogCreationWorkshop@gmail.com or http://BlogCreationWorkshop.com. If I do not have a unique email and URL for that niche market, I use the one that I have or think this niche market may be interested in.

Posting StrategiesThe two key strategies are “be consistent” (i.e., put yourself in front of people on a regular basis) and, if possible, “be the first to comment” or be amongst the first to post … for maximum visibility.
